Four foods to help your body fight the flu

Give your immune system a quick boost with some garlic.
The swine flu virus (H1N1) currently accounts for about 98% of circulating flu viruses in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Having a strong, healthy immune system is the body's only true defense. Build up your immunity with these nutritionist-recommended foods.

Colorful fruits and veggies. Antioxidants like beta-carotene and vitamin C are key to immune system health. Get your daily dose of beta-carotene with a half-cup serving of brightly colored fruits and vegetables, especially orange ones like sweet potatoes and carrots.

Yogurt. Look for varieties containing probiotics, "good" bacteria that may strengthen the digestive system. Two 6-ounce servings per day may ease diarrhea, prevent yeast and urinary tract infections and improve overall health.
