So utterly shocking that it's hard to believe isn't it ?
I'd heard two experts give a radio interview earlier this week . They are currently touring the US , visiting schools to inform as many young people as possible of this ongoing tragedy. When asked for a figure by the interviewer, they said "Eleven teens die every day from texting while driving". They were asked to confirm a second time - just to be sure.
It motivated me to dig around a little. In researching more than several related articles over the net, it certainly appears to be true.
In fact, it is said that in 2012, texting while driving surpassed drinking and driving/drunk driving as the leading cause of death among teen drivers.
. . . Definitely worth a few extra prayers in the hope that such tragedies can be avoided - not only for the sake of these young people , but also that their parents might be spared the devastating grief such tragedies carry.
