We must begin building our war chest to elect a pro-life president and defeat President Obama now. Already, through our Pro-Life Presidential Leadership Pledge, we have raised the bar for what it means to be a pro-life candidate running for president. And our political team has zeroed-in on key Congressional districts and states where we must begin to identify and educate voters so we can mobilize them to the polls on election day to provide the margin of victory needed to win.
The 2010 election cycle was a banner year for the SBA List. Out of 90 races we were involved in, we won 62 and lost 28. We kicked Nancy Pelosi out of power. Through our Votes Have Consequences program, we targeted and defeated 15 Democrats who told their constituents they were pro-life but handed President Obama the votes he needed to pass ObamaCare, the biggest expansion of abortion on-demand since Roe. We increased the number of pro-life women in the House by 70 percent, and filled the void of a pro-life woman’s voice in the Senate with the election of Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire.
But our work is not done: In order to pass laws that save lives, we must defeat President Obama in 2012 and the fight begins today.
The results of our success during the 2010 election cycle are clear. The pro-life majority in the House made defunding Planned Parenthood a central part of the budget battle resulting in the restoration of the Dornan Amendment and passed the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act. But our efforts to defund Planned Parenthood at the federal level and end all taxpayer funding of abortion will not move forward unless we defeat President Obama.
In order to go on the offensive and pass laws that save lives, we must defeat Barack Obama.
