Saturday is Our Lady's Day , I of III
It is generally accepted that Saturday devotion to Our Blessed Mother has its origins in this particular day – Holy Saturday. Although we can sometimes encounter slight variations in the stories which might come to us through tradition according to their sources, certain facts connected to Saturday being the particular day which belongs to Our Blessed Mother form a solid foundation :
Holy Saturday is the first day of our Blessed Mother’s spiritual Motherhood.
Holy Saturday is the only day She was without Her Beloved Son – Jesus.
It would follow in a mystical way then, that Saturday – particularly first Saturdays , would be the day She seeks consolation in the hearts of us – who are also Her children. Yet being always Jesus’ Mother too, it isn’t consolation for herself She seeks when she asks for reparation , but rather consolation for the Sacred Heart of Jesus , and today in particular, for His Eucharistic Heart ; confirmed by the Angel of Fatima –
From Fatima came Our Lady’s request that we keep the First Five Saturdays :
Here it is as explained in Sr. Lucia’s letter to her godmother
These two Hearts which love each other so tenderly cannot help but reflect their unity and mutual care even in a particular devotion. So, as Our Lady desires that we should console Our Blessed Lord and Brother , He also wishes her to be honoured and consoled by the very same devotion. Our Lord demonstrates this in his explanation to Sr. Lucia of what the significance of 5 is concerning the First Saturdays :

Take and eat the Body and drink the Blood of Jesus Christ, horribly outraged by ungrateful men. Make reparation for their crimes and console your God."

Here it is as explained in Sr. Lucia’s letter to her godmother
On November 1, 1927, Sister Lucy wrote to her godmother, Dona Maria de Miranda:
"I don't know if you already know about the reparatory devotion of the five Saturdays to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. As it is still recent, I would like to inspire you to practice it, because it is requested by Our dear Heavenly Mother and Jesus has manifested a desire that it be practiced. Also, it seems to me that you would be fortunate, dear godmother, not only to know it and to give Jesus the consolation of practicing it, but also to make it known and embraced by many other persons.
"It consists in this: During five months on the first Saturday, to receive Jesus in Communion, recite a Rosary, keep Our Lady company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary, and make a confession. The confession can be made a few days earlier, and if in this previous confession you have forgotten the (required) intention the following intention can be offered, provided that on the first Saturday one receives Holy Communion in a state of grace, with the intention of repairing for offenses against the Most Holy Virgin and which afflict Her Immaculate Heart.

WHY FIVE SATURDAYS ?
It is sometimes asked why Our Lady asked for Communions of reparation on five first Saturdays, instead of some other number. Our Blessed Lord answered that question when He appeared to Sr. Lucia May 29, 1930. He explained that it was because of five kinds of offenses and blasphemies against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, namely: blasphemies against her Immaculate Conception, against her perpetual virginity, against the divine and spiritual maternity of Mary, blasphemies involving the rejection and dishonoring of her images, and the neglect of implanting in the hearts of children a knowledge and love of this Immaculate Mother.
