"PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING
Today, I began my Wednesday morning in the usual way, I began my day leading the Rosary at the local abortion clinic. I was joined by well over 50 pro-life apostles, mostly comprised of young Moms and their awesome pro-life kids.
While I was leading the Rosary, I noticed that Terri Perez, our main side-walk counselor was speaking with a young girl at the entrance of the parking lot. Terri and the girl went on to talk for almost thirty minutes.
As time went on, I decided that I should go over and see if I could help in some way. Sometimes it is better for a woman to talk to another woman and for the priest to stay out of it, but since so much time had passed, I figured it was good for me to see what I could do.
I began to talk to the girl with profound patience and compassion. I found out that she is from Mexico and a baptized Catholic. She is 23 years old and 10 weeks pregnant. She spoke to me in an open and sincere way. Our dialogue went something like this:
Do you understand that you are carrying within you a little baby, a living human being?
Yes.
Why do you want to have an abortion?
Because I am in college and it would be inconvenient for me to have this baby now.
I can provide you with all of the money that you need to have your baby.
Thanks, but I am not interested.
I can provide you with the money and I can also find for you a family that will immediately adopt your baby.
Thank you, but all of this is inconvenient.
After repeating this argumentation for about 15 minutes, I then said, do you realize that you are going to kill a little baby?
Yes.
Why do you want to kill your baby?
I am in college and I have to finish my studies.
I can pay for the baby and find a family to adopt your baby.
Silence.
Do you understand that you will destroy a human life and you will destroy yourself? Do you understand that you will carry this guilt with you for the rest of your life?
Silence
Do you understand that you are putting your soul in jeopardy?
Silence
More pleading about paying for the baby and finding a family to adopt the baby.
Can I pray with you for a few moments?
Yes.
Prayer
Conclusion: The girl quietly walked away and had an abortion this morning at the abortion clinic in Corpus Christi, TX.
Prayers are needed tonight for this girl. Why was she accompanied only by her younger sister? Where were her parents? Where was her boyfriend? Please, let us continue to pray for the conversion of Dr. Eduardo Aquino, the Corpus Christi abortion doctor and his family. Let us pray for the silence of so many Catholics.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention...as I was leading the Rosary, a little stray dog was trying to cross the street. He was right in front of us, trying to get to the other side. The street traffic was very heavy. There were a few times when the little dog was almost hit by a car. However, it was interesting to see how so many cars stopped in the middle of busy traffic to avoid killing a little dog...that was great. But, not one person stopped to help save a woman from killing her own baby.
This is how I started my day today. What are you going to do to stop abortions tomorrow?"
