March for Life

January 22, 2010
3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Hawaii State Capitol

On January 22, 2010 there will be a March and Rally for Life at the Hawaii State Captiol to mourn the 37th anniversary of the legalization of abortion by the Roe v. Wade decision. Christians from many religious denominations will be represented, as well as crisis pregnancy and human care agencies. This event, for the first time in Hawaii, will feature luminaries that can be purchased for $5.00.* We encourage you to join us!

Since 1973, some 50 million babies have been aborted in this country. Abortion has become a solution to secure comfort and convenience to eliminate the unwanted, unpopular, and unplanned.

For the church, both historically and theologically, the issue of abortion is rather quite simple. Since God is the author of all life, all life is valuable at every stage. Abortion is simply the destruction of a baby’s life in its mother’s womb. Regardless of what people in the pro-choice community say, the baby at its earliest stage is not a tissue mass or a blob of cells, but a precious human life. The bible tells us that a great God “…formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

In a culture that considers death a viable instrument for its solving its problems, the Christian community must speak with a strong and unified voice. We must preach the sacredness of all human life at all points and in every instance. This is our responsibility. Every human person is too valuable. Jesus gave His life for all life. Jesus is for the human person at every stage, no matter the level of intellect, the function of their bodies, or stage of development. Consider joining us at the State Capitol and raise your voice for the millions of children whose lives were terminated by the violence of abortion.
