Congressmen Todd Tiahrt (R-KS) and Lincoln Davis (D-TN) of the House Appropriations Committee will offer an amendment Tuesday, July 7, to restore the Dornan Amendment and prohibit the use of taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions in the District of Columbia. An Appropriations subcommittee voted to allow abortion funding in the nation’s capital late last month at the request of the Obama Administration. If passed, the Tiahrt/Davis amendment to stop the funding would save an estimated 1,000 lives a year.
